How to change icons

I am new to android from blackberry so bear with me. Is there a way to change the icons of applications once they are downloaded to my phone? Thanks in advance for your help. And I might need step by step help since its been 10 years with a BB LOL

Not in Sense at least not unless you root your phone. You can use launchers like ADW (in the Android market for free) there are themes available that will change application icons so I know its possible but I have not done it myself

LauncherPro Plus

You are also able to change them in LauncherPro Plus.

Bettercut in the market will allow you to change them on the home screen. You can either download their icon packs or use ones saved to your gallery.
It's a pay app but well worth it.
Long press your home screen, select shortcut, select bettercut, in better cut select installed applcations, then pick the app you want. Once propmted select change icon and pick from icon pack or gallery.
