Go to settings/Change Setup Method to WEXT (ad-hoc). Then Change Device-Profile to Generic ICS/JB (wlan0) and make sure you have the Routing fix checked and thats it. ENJOY!!!​

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work with the stock 4.3 ROM from AT&T (and, yes, the phone is rooted). Any suggestions?

What I did to get my stocked tether to work for my HTC Thunderbolt before the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade was replacing the Tetherguard.apk in my rooted Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade with a different Tetherguard from the IceBean rom that was for the Thunderbolt before I upgraded. I am not responsible for any bricks if this method doesn't work for your phone.

In the past I switched out tetherguards after upgrading and rebooting and that seemed to help with tethering. The ROM that I am using is a Rooted Rom downloaded from infectedrom.com I am not responsible for any bricks if this method doesn't work for your phone.

OP is updated with a new link to a wifi tether app that is confirmed to work on Sprints HTC ONE and BadBoyz Sense 5.0 v1.2
