First time droid user,,, can I have custom fields in contacts

First experience with any android phone...have been an iphone person for the past 6 years... I love my HTC ONE build quality...my only gripe is that I cannot seem to be able to have custom fields in the contacts...I used these fields a lot on my iphone5 and on my HTC it's home,mobile and the rest are all "other",,,the default fields that are available don't do me any good ie (home fax,work fax,assistant etc.)...ANY way around that???? Please help..

I know the phone field has custom fields. The others may support it via Gmail contacts, so...

Couple ideas:

1. Assuming you are using a Gmail account to sync with your phone, try adding the fields you want in Gmail contacts and see how those show up on your phone.

2. Look in the app store for other address book apps. Maybe one of those has what you are wanting.
