Handset Speaker

I've been having this problem for the past couple of days and I can't seem to figure out how to fix it. Whenever I get a call or I call someone, I can only hear the first second of the call through the speaker and then all of a sudden the speaker stops working. Calls work fine over speakerphone or over headphones if I plug them in, but over the normal handset speaker, the sound drops out (like the speaker stopped working). I emailed HTC about it and they told me the best thing to do is to do a factory restore. Before I do that, are there any other ideas on what the problem could be?

Never mind guys, I tried a device reset and it still doesn't work. Gonna trade in my phone for a new one. Feel free to close this thread.

That's a weird one. Mine has behaved itself well, so far. If I have one complaint, it's that the speakerphone volume is way too low for a busy environment.
