My K3 Note refuses to charge when in ON condition. Is there any solution?

My K3 Note refuses to charge when in ON condition but gladly obliges in switched OFF condition. The same thing happens when I connect my phone to the PC through USB cable for charging. I am using the original supplied Lenovo Adapter for charging. I tried a Nokia charger too but the problem persists. Went ahead and did a Factory Reset but the condition remained unaltered. Also tried to check my phone's charging problem with another fresh battery from my colleague's new K3 Note. No success there either. My software version is up to date. is there anything else which I may have missed trying? I am stranded as I have to moderate usage so that my phone battery lasts for the day. There has been times when I had to switch off my phone for charging during my working hours. Very embarassing when some important calls are missed during my phone's siesta. Is there a solution coming???
