Why am I getting unfortunately settings has stopped?

why am i getting "unfortunately settings has stopped"?

when updating my lg g2 to lollipop i lost connection. now when i try to check on the system updates to get it to update the settings crash and i get the "unfortunately settings has stopped" message. i have reset my phone to factory mode but it still gives me the same message. what is going on?

Welcome to Android Central! When you lost connection, was the phone in the middle of just downloading the update? Or was it in the middle of the installation process?

The same thing happend to me. I don't know if it was downloading or installing when I lost connection though. I have not yet done a factory reset and if there is any way to fix this without doing one, I'd love some help. My phone seems to be fine except that I can't check for updates anymore.
