Question Settings stopped unexpectedly

Hi,

My wife’s device an HTC U11 started to come up with 2 issues lately: when trying to use the camera the message "Unable to start camera” was shown and when going under Settings "Settings stopped unexpectedly” briefly was displayed.

I then performed a hard reset of the device. I had a very hard time going thru the initial Android setup process as the apps kept crashing but then it went thru fine.
At the beginning I managed to go to settings but now again I am getting the same issue with the camera and settings, both icons appears as greyed out.
I went thru the process of cleaning up the cache thru the bootloader process but it didn’t change anything.
What could I do ?

PS. As I don’t have access to Settings I am not able to find out which OS version I am running

See if uninstalling updates to the Google app also clears up the Camera issue.

Welcome to Android Central! Not sure why you're getting that -- are you using the forum website, or the AC Forums app based on Tapatalk?
You should be able to get there by searching for the thread title: "[HTC U11] unable to open settings menu"

I am using the forum website. Mysteriously, I can' t find the thread "[HTC U11] unable to open settings menu" any more. I was able to read it a week ago, now it has disappeared...

Oh wait, it's in the Quarantine area for some reason. Let me ask other Mods why that might be ...
