I have to return my device due to a defect that popped up last night and today (dead pixels). I'm slightly intrigued to just do a full return and buy the H815 since it doesn't have carrier bloat.

Can anyone summarize the difference between the 2 and can anyone recommend a good place (or good Ebayer) to buy the H815 from? I've noticed the H815 is almost the same price as the H811 now so that makes it even more tempting.

I think the biggest thing is going to be the lack of Wi-Fi calling and texting. Not so sure about the difference in bands though.

Just remember that the H815 won't have wifi calling, certain bands and features that come with a carrier specific device. Otherwise, the H815 is carrier bloat free and I LOVE IT!!! :D

I don't care about WiFi calling and texting and the big T-Mobile Band 12 is apparently available in my area but I've never been connected to it for some reason.

Can anyone recommend a good eBay seller? Do any of them include the headphones and/or 2nd back?

I bought my H815 through Clove Technologies in the UK. Was priced reasonably, and they didn't charge much for shipping to the US. I'd recommend them unless someone else has a reputable eBay seller.

I definitely noticed a boost of signal and faster LTE speeds with this new phone and band 12 on Tmobile.
I would normally get 2 bars of siganl inside my house with the iPhone 6plus, but now I get 4 to 5 bars with the G4.

And you have the T-mobile variant since I think the H-815 doesn't have band 12? Are you sure you were connected to band 12? Mine always only says band 4 but I'm in a band 12 area!

Band 4 is what I'm connected to here in NYC and I get speeds between 25mbps to 60mbps down and 15 to 35 up. If band 12 can give me more then that then I might reconsider but I doubt it. I think band 12 just penetrates better through walls is my understanding.

I'm just confused because my area has band 12 for sure and it never connects to it.

Just noticed I can get this for under $600 (H815 variant) on eBay. I think I might go that route.

Just make sure its a reputable seller. I've never liked doing business in ebay because of shady sellers.

The 2 I've seen are Never_MSRP and Tropical something or other. They both have near 100% and lots of feedback and fast shipping.

Have the H815 here and loving it.... Never can tolerate carrier branded phones. If you don't depend on WiFi calling and band 12 H815 is a no brained. Bought it from Tropical mobile on eBay, has lots of feedback and quick shipping thru FedEx 2 day.

If you travel out of the country, then you can use Wifi calling back to the US free of charge.

I do have the T-Mobile variant. Not sure how I can check which band I'm using but according to T-Mobile's website this phone has lte band 12. And this is the best signal (at home) I've gotten ever on a cell phone. Also last year I was having problems with cell coverage at home and I called T-Mobile about it and they said they were doing upgrades at the cell tower near my home for that purpose. Guess I kind of assumed it was band 12, but if you know how to check it just let me know and I will.

Go to Google Playstore on your device and download LTE Discovery app.
