Mac will not recognize G4 - even after driver installation

Okay so I plugged my G4 into my Macbook for the first time and a CD icon showed up. Inside was an unhelpful read-me file and an installer package for the G4's driver. After installing the driver, i restarted my computer as instructed, and now the computer still doesn't recognize the phone - not even the CD icon shows up.

I would like to solve this issue so I can have my phone be discovered in Android File Transfer in order to put music on my device. Any help is appreciated.

Nothing works at the moment for Mac and Lollipop. I use Airdroid or WiFi File Transfer.

Works fine for me. Mac doesn't need any drivers. Just install Android File Transfer to move files back and forth and the LG Bridge app for backups, updating, etc.

I figured out that installing LG Bridge on Mac actually breaks Android File Transfer support. I had to uninstall it AND go find and delete a couple folders it left behind and then reboot before Android File Transfer started working with my G4 again. Don't remember which folders I had to delete, sorry.

First, do you have your G4 set to MTP mode?

Try using AppZapper or AppCleaner to uninstall the LG software on the Mac. They'll also hunt down associated files, folders, etc and clean those up too.

Thanks! I'll try it and see if it works.
Very disappointed that this feature isn't working as easily as it used to.
I have an LG Bridge app on the phone, but it cannot be removed or disabled. :(
