Auto HDR question

1. On my G3 I used to have to turn this feature off because I was getting blurry pics when it tried for HDR but didn't really need it.

I've been playing with it on The G4 though and it doesn't seem to have that lag? Can anyone confirm if I can just set it to auto and forget about it?

One example of where it messed me up on g3 before I knew this was the culprit was a team photo in a not so well lit gym. The camera likely saw a still shot with high contrast and went for HDR. All the pics were soft and fuzzy because humans do move even if stationary. Also the pic took forever and the team was already moving and away.

I think you will just have to try it to see. HDR merges 2 or 3 pictures with different exposure together, so if the subject moved in between shots, it would create fuzzy image. The G4 maybe better than the G3 if it could take those shots faster, but you will have to be the judge.
