Video on G4

I've been having problems viewing videos smoothly on my phone. After a few minutes the frame rat. Would drop severely and feel like the phone is stuck. I can't leave the video because the phone is stuck but the audio will still keep going like it's normal. The video however, by this point has dropped to 1 frame per second or per 5 seconds. This is any video on the web or YouTube (even in the app) regardless of my connection.

What about locally saved video files? Is it only with streaming video?

Go to Settings>Developer Options. Is there a setting to switch from AwesomePlayer to NuPlayer (or vice-versa)?
