Camera module battery

Is it true, the camera module extra 1,200 battery only kicks in when camera is used? Therefore its not really giving the phone a 4,000 total size battery to use all the time?

To my knowledge, the Cam Plus module's battery works seamlessly with the phone so when you clip it on your G5 battery capacity is that 4000 mAh. I'm not 100% sure so if someone knows better, please correct me

This is in the fine print on the Verizon website if pre ordering the camera module:

**The embedded battery is engaged only while the CAM Plus is in use and remains active for approximately five minutes after the last photo or video is taken. LG G5 battery capacity = 2,800 mAh; LG CAM Plus battery capacity = 1,200 mAh. These battery capacities cannot be combined.

Total misfire if you ask me. I guess if your phone is going dead, you can just turn on the camera to help start up the backup power.

wow, that is a fail, if true. The Cam Plus was a must buy, but if this is true, it's much, much less useful for me.

That sucks, if indeed true. Luckily I get the Cam Plus as a free pre-order bonus, I wouldn't buy it now 'cos doesn't feel like it's worth of 100 euros....

It's 1200 mAh for the one in the Cam plus and, independently, 2800 mAh for the stock battery. So if you switch it in and out all day (say, you're sightseeing and you use it about 25% of the time) you'd get 4000 total. They aren't in there together, but you could use them both to extend your day.

My question all along has been, are you able to put the 2800 stock battery in the cam plus? If you want to basically use the camera all day?
