Default Gift card to buy android apps

I saw that the Android Market takes "Visa Gift Cards", but does anyone actually use them to purchase apps?Is there the activation process the same as purchasing an iTunes card for an apple product?

No, Visa gift cards are literally debit cards. You just hook it up to your account as if it were a credit card. Its not specific to the Play Store.

Unless the gift card does not allow use outside the united states. I had the problem once I had to gift cards and could not use them because the Google market was base out of Brasil.
