Why can't I log into Google Photos?

Re: Can't log in to Google Photos Actually, further to my post above. I also later experienced this on my wife's Nexus 5. I just stopped both Photo apps, cleared the cache (of the one that offered this option), and then entered the Photo app again and the problem was fixed. Seems like this is a...

Why can't I log into Google Photos?

Re: Can't log in to Google Photos I had this problem on my daughter's Nexus 4. It had 2 "Photos" apps on it. I cleared the cache on both, forced stop, disabled 1 app, then restarted. Then enabled app again then did play store update of the new Photos app, then it worked.

The Nexus 5 Android 5.1 Lollipop Thread

Given that both are named as version 5.1 I also doubt we will see an OTA update from D to I. Once again, this demonstrates the hopeless state of Google's management and communication of Android updates. What sense can there be giving 2 different firmwares the same version number?

The Nexus 5 Android 5.1 Lollipop Thread

Just to clear any confusion, people should be aware that you can choose to "sideload" the OTA file yourself to get it "early". Unlike installing an image, you don't need an unlocked phone/bootloader, and you don't lose any data or apps etc. Sideloading is the same as initiating the same normal...

    5.0.2 update?

You're kidding. You linked to a discussion which links to a story on the garbage click-bait site ibtimes. Go and ask your cat instead.

If still on KitKat, can 5.0 be skipped by waiting for 5.0.1 OTA update?

These click-bait sites are getting out of hand. They just make up outright lies: Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for Nexus 7 and Nexus 4 available now | Christian News on Christian Today

Why are my Google Apps Crashing/Stopping since the Lollipop update on my Nexus 4?

Re: Google Apps Crashing/Stopping in Lollipop on Nexus 4` Just reboot your phone every couple of days until they fix the memory leak bug. Causes all sorts of issues. See http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/2me1m8/serious_memory_leak_in_android_lollipop/ and...

    Nexus 5 with Lollipop impressions

Something was fixed recently (I think it may have been Google Play services update to 6.5+) which seems to have fixed this. You can set this back to open tabs in chrome, but personally I think having everything in the "recent list" is an improvement. Set your screen lock to "None". Gallery...

    Calendar app

And another vote here. My wife and I also have been using it for years. It's not particularly pretty, but very functional. We really like the year view.

    Cool feature I found...OK Google!

    This is correct.

    Nexus 5 with Lollipop impressions

Yes, that first boot after an upgrade can take many minutes. Google should have added a small message on the screen there as it causes heart palpitations for many thinking they have bricked their phone.

    Nexus 5 with Lollipop impressions

The only reason you don't like it is because it is different to what you are used to. It makes a lot of sense to integrate app page/tab views into the new Overview and is a better way. You can switch the old chrome tab behaviour back on if you want but that's just persisting your old less...

Any confirmed nexus 5 OTA drops for lollipop?

I agree, but you should not have to download anything or use a PC etc. Pressing the "check for updates" button on the phone should initiate the update immediately. Google can stagger it for the punters. Most of them have probably not even heard about Android Lollipop/5.0 and couldn't care less...

Any confirmed nexus 5 OTA drops for lollipop?

To any Arch linux users here, just type "sudo pacman -S android-tools android-udev", add yourself to adbusers group, and you are ready to go. They are tiny packages (from the standard repos) that take only a few secs to install.

Question for N5 owners. Are you buying a Nexus 6?

That's a fantasy, not a dream. The original rumours were correct, Google have terminated the Nexus program we all loved, i.e. a high end flagship phone at a bargain price. As a final sweetener to Lenovo, Google have given the brand name to Motorola for their Moto-XL phone which has been called...
