Re: Can't log in to Google Photos I had this problem on my daughter's Nexus 4. It had 2 "Photos" apps on it. I cleared the cache on both, forced stop, disabled 1 app, then restarted. Then enabled app again then did play store update of the new Photos app, then it worked.

Given that both are named as version 5.1 I also doubt we will see an OTA update from D to I. Once again, this demonstrates the hopeless state of Google's management and communication of Android updates. What sense can there be giving 2 different firmwares the same version number?

Just to clear any confusion, people should be aware that you can choose to "sideload" the OTA file yourself to get it "early". Unlike installing an image, you don't need an unlocked phone/bootloader, and you don't lose any data or apps etc. Sideloading is the same as initiating the same normal...

Something was fixed recently (I think it may have been Google Play services update to 6.5+) which seems to have fixed this. You can set this back to open tabs in chrome, but personally I think having everything in the "recent list" is an improvement. Set your screen lock to "None". Gallery...

Yes, that first boot after an upgrade can take many minutes. Google should have added a small message on the screen there as it causes heart palpitations for many thinking they have bricked their phone.

The only reason you don't like it is because it is different to what you are used to. It makes a lot of sense to integrate app page/tab views into the new Overview and is a better way. You can switch the old chrome tab behaviour back on if you want but that's just persisting your old less...

I agree, but you should not have to download anything or use a PC etc. Pressing the "check for updates" button on the phone should initiate the update immediately. Google can stagger it for the punters. Most of them have probably not even heard about Android Lollipop/5.0 and couldn't care less...
