As long as the phone sees it as charge only. If you plug it in and it thinks it's plugged into a PC it will throttle the charge rate. I use the Moto "blue light" one and it works great. $5 off amazon.

Used LauncherPro, GO launcher and ADW. I liked GO until it went wonky in landscape. Presently using LauncherPro. As stated above it really comes down to personal preference.

On a trip camping this weekend I noticed a few things. On the way up at night the charger actually kept up with navigation, trapster and dashboard assist running. Seems night mode sucks less power. There even was a about a 20 mile stretch where there is no cell service and that didn't affect it...

Like stated above an aftermarket launcher fixes this if it really is an issue. I have used LauncherPro and GO and both work quite well.

Just get a charger that outputs 1+amp and you don't have to worry.

I got mine off of amazon for $.81. Works on my charge, friend's droid x and GF's Tbolt.

I have the charge and my GF has the Tbolt. Playing with both I have to say the charge is the superior 4LTE phone. The Tbolt randomly reboots more often than the charge and it sucks battery pretty quickly. You may very well gotten a lemon and I'd exchange it and see if you have a better...

I am rooted but I haven't really had the need to tether right now becasue I have a netbook with the verizon radio built in. I have read that you can get free tethering with a rooted Charge so I will find out when the netbook term is up.
