Seems tautalogical: any bug that caused major drain would be, by definition, a major bug. Changes between CM 7.1 and 7.2 on the p500 platform caused drain to go from 1%/hr at rest to 5%/hr. The phone could not enter deep sleep due to a BT wakelock. Confirmed on fresh install by BBB...

Wonky battery connection?

Sounds like the battery is dying, no matter what voltage it is reporting. Sometimes batteries can fail in a manner where they can provide unladen voltage but fall apart when loaded. Replacements are cheap off eBay.

If you're doing this on windoze it likely shows up as a drive, just like a flash drive would. On my devices the DCIM folder is on the sdcard already. If you're doing it on linux it's likely automounting under /mnt/{nameOfPartition} or something.

I'm not sure what method you are trying. Many folks use Titanium Backup to freeze first (for testing) then remove. I installed a custom recovery, made a backup, then used adb to remount rw and deleted the apps manually. Mem isn't shown freed, IIRC, until Dalvik cache is cleared.

In my case bluetooth was draining the battery rapidly. Turning off BT when not in use makes a huge difference in my case. I use CM7.2 RC and it drains about 1%/hr with BT off.
