When I "updated" to KitKat I did have a few issues, the screen brightness was definitely lower and I had a bit of lag here and there. Re: Dust around edge of screen best way to get rid of it? A hoover (vacuum cleaner) with a noozle attachment...although the joins are super tight on my Moto G and it doesn't collect much dirt at all.
