Pelican Shield. I am looking at it from both a protective and aesthetic perspective with a greater emphasis on protection as it is the primary reason for having a case on a glass smartphone.

I actually went into a Best Buy store and got my GS10+ with absolutely no problem. I ended up going to Best Buy because six AT&T company stores where I usually get my phones since 1994. I actually enjoyed the in-store Best Buy experience so much so that I may shop there going forward.

I wouldn't count the Fold or future Samsung foldable smartphone out completely. I can't see abandoning years of research and millions of dollars and man hours.

The Defender appeared to cause a tiny bit of bubbling on the OEM screen protector. The reason why it appeared to be caused by the case is that I didn't notice the bubbling until afterwards. It could have been present beforehand. The Pelican Shield doesn't appear to have the same potential issue.

Opinion and judgmental blogging has indeed replaced real journalism. The use of the same talking points is meant to create perception that replaces reality. It is unreasonable to expect massive changes to a few hundred thousand units. Let's wait until generation two to go bonkers.

I really try to listen to as many different points of view as possible. It's getting pretty easy to spot the media with an agenda that overrides their role to showcase the device and review its merits and drawbacks. Need to call these folks out as often as possible.
