    Battery drain for dummies!?

I'd say the numbers you posted above look normal to me. Sounds like email is the culprit. Of course you'll likely need to set up your email again. If you do, I might suggest that you try some other third party email apps first. I have no recommendations for you, as I use gmail app for gmail only...

    Battery drain for dummies!?

Julia, there are some things you can try. I'm no expert, so I can't help with all that much detail, but Google how to do some of these things if you need to. First, it does sound like gmail/email is your culprit. Let's start with the email app (actually not a real app in this version of...

Hopefully no one is bricked ala nexus 7. At least one person on xda reports a cache wipe helped: <br /> <br...

Does the 5.1 update brick the device?

The thought is that the 5.0.2 update is what eventually kills the nexus 7 2013, but nothing solid is confirmed. If I were you, I'd update and take my chances or downgrade to 4.4.4. Either way, there's not enough data on the bricking to know.

    Ok Google hotword detection

If you are rooted, you can use the "unleash the Google"app to enable hotword detection on x. It breaks touchless controls and Moto assist, however.
