The back has tape that holds it to the battery. Carefully "peel" the back from the battery. Don't get the tape dirty and you re-use it. You will need a Torx screwdriver to remove the battery connections. Handle the connections carefully so as not to break them.

Are you looking in the DCIM folders on both the external SD card and Internal phone storage?

Check and make sure there is nothing stuck in the jack. Dust in the jack can cause problems.
