Mine is set the same way, and does the same thing. Frustrating. Also, now that Contact addresses are split into multiple fields, how do you "copy" an entire address so you can "paste" it into something else? I want 4.3 back!

This version of Android Contacts (S5) splits out addressed stored in Contacts as separate fields/lines for street, city, state, and zip. How can I select the entire address at once so that I can copy it, and paste it into an email or txt message? I can't seem to select it in read or edit...

I think the intent is to sync the handheld to the server - which means keep them the same. If it was pop3 you could do this, but not when syncing. I've never heard of doing that with ActiveSync.
