factory reset

I've been having alot of issues with apps crashing constantly so I decided to do a factory reset by holding down the volume and power buttons and choosing the recovery option, but when I do this the Motorola screen flashes up for a second before dissapearing. It then goes back to the original screen and displays the message Boot up failed. Does anybody know why this would be happening and if there is any solution? Thanks

Try hard resetting from in the settings if that does not work then you'll have to get a replacement, if you try that again and it doesn't work!!

Thanks for the reply. I've tried via the settings but nothing happens, I was trying to avoid it but I guess I'm going to have to get a replacement
