Prior to trying Greenify on my Moto X 2013 with KitKat 444, I tracked my battery drain with the phone idle. I would lose 3 or 4% per hour. By 7 hours on stand by I would be around 80%.

Now with Greenify (free version and not rooted and no xposed, etc) I am at 12 hours stand by with 80% battery.

Just thought to share as I am generally skeptical of apps like this but it seems to work.

After install, I wiped my cache and dalvik cache too. And I Greenify every third party app and at time of locking, etc.

It's different from a task killer. It hibernates the app, thereby reducing background usage and extending battery life. I used to use Greenify, but with my selection of apps, I didn't get much of a battery improvement. YMMV

I uninstalled the Fox News and Cricket Free WiFi connector app because they chew up the battery.

Since they have been uninstalled I getting 24 hours of battery with 25% remaining with only 90 minutes of screen time. With those apps I would be 14%.

I may give this app a try or a different one that requires root to limits or shuts down back round usage.

I miss my old Prē 2. It was so easy to dictate how often an app would update or run.

For those who doubt my usage. I'm using a xt1053 DE on Cricket. My old xt1056 on Sprint never got this good battery life.
