T-Mobile in status bar

My Moto x first edition didn't say T-Mobile in the status bar. Just got my new Moto-x and it displays "T-Mobile" in the status bar. I am using the same T-mobile sim from my old Moto-x. It is taking up space in the status bar. How can I get rid of it? Thanks .

Does it show only on the lockscreen, or even on the homescreen? Are you running Lollipop or KitKat?

Oh yeah, forgot about that! I wish more phones had that option.
