Default Is there a way to save the boot up animation?

Also, how does Moto change those? I have a Dev Ed that I will be unlocking soon so if you need to be unlocked and rooted to save the boot animation I can do that.

I don't have a really good answer for you, but on my Nexus 5, there's a bootanimation.zip file on the /system/media directory. So if you root, I would guess you could pull that file off.
