My Motorola Droid 4 is frozen with the star on the screen. It won't shut off or turn on. How can I fix it?

my motorola droid 4 is froze with the star on the screen. it wont shut off or turn on.

I had talked on it this morning just fine and then I turned it off completely. I haven't done that in a while.. when I turned it back on it is frozen. it won't turn completely on and it won't turn off. how can I reset it?

Welcome to Android Central! You can force a power down by pressing and holding the Power button for about 15-20 seconds. Then try powering on again. If the same thing happens again, then something may have failed in the hardware. That's a pretty old phone, so this wouldn't be too surprising.
