How to TWRP+OTAs, I'm sick of manually flashing every time. CM?

So I'm running 5.0, rooted,TRWP etc, and now I can't update to 5.0.1 unless I go through downloading the entire ROM, picking up the images I need, flashing through ADB, wiping cache etc, so I won't lose data. Been doing that for previous updates, and now I'm honestly sick of it. Tried to manually flashing the smaller 5.0.1 that came through OTA, with TWRP, but it says image signature is invalid or something.

Is there any easier way to update other than wiping your device or going through that pain each time? I'm considering going CM to avoid this crap again.

Rooting is a double edged sword. And this is the down side to it. If you go with CM, you can at least apply the update automatically, but there is no chance to make a Nandroid between the reboot to recovery and the flashing.
