So it seems my previous post didn't show up. I have had a op3 since launch. Amazing. LOVE IT.

Only issue is my fps which is hailed as amazing is only 50/50 success with me. I have:
- Replaced fp many times
- cleaned scanner
- restarted
- changed case cause previous one interfered a bit
- even clean fingers first sometimes.

My old country needed fingerprints for driving licence and I remember having issues with normal ink and paper fingerprints showing clearly. Maybe that?

Any suggestions? Or is it likely factory issue?
Cheers.

Seems like you have done many of the things I would have done so far.
I would also clear the cache partition as well. (I doubt that would help but it's not invasive)
Next would be a factory data set.
If that doesn't work, contact OnePlus. Could be a hardware issue.

Yeah cheers. These are the things I have been pondering. I may put the community build for 3.5.2 on so maybe after that it may change.

Looks definitely like a hardware issue. The FP is one of the fastest on the market.

Being fast and being accurate are two different things though. I agree, this baby is nearly instantaneous...when it reads your print.

However, to me, I'm a little skeptical it's a hardware defect, especially since he's had issues with his prints in other scenarios. These things are real sensitive, and rightly so for security/privacy purposes.
