OPO got update today and reset my whole phone

I received a notification that there was a system update. I said to install it. It didn't seem to do anything (this was when I plugged it in to charge). Later, while I was out, it installed, reset and my phone is missing all my data, apps, etc.

The version is Android 6.0.1 and Cyanogen OS 13.1.

I am running the standard rom.

Did this happen to anyone else?? A warning I would lose everything would have been nice. I haven't had to reinstall anything with the other updates.

Okay. I rebooted and my phone is back to normal. I have no clue what happened. Could it have logged into another account (like guest)? I took the phone out of my pocket a few times and the screen was on.

It was bizarre as I had only the basic apps before and had to add my google account, etc.
