I just tried these same apps on version 2.06 and they show up in the market and poynt even installed without problems. I was just curious. lol

The Yelp app won't install, same with Flight Track.

For me, it was HeyTell and MyTracks, both of them apps that require Maps. Coincidence? Yeah, probably.

I had problems with heytell as described in message 1020.
Go to mobile.brothersoft.com/heytell-69659.html and click compatible devices. The OV is not supported but other Optimus (IDENTICAL) phones are supported. This must have changed recently because my wife has used Heytell on OV for a year.

Confirm fixed. I tried with Bank of America's app, which had previously shown as incompatible. It just finished installing successfully.

Thank you Leslie Ann, voicesearch works wonderfully now. "Podkicker free" still says cannot install in my device's country, but "podkicker pro" shows up in the market. Im not too worried about this app as there are many like it. I checked some apps that were problems for other people, like "yelp" and "Heytell," no problems.
It could be my imagination but 2.08 seems faster than 2.03. Been using your ROMs for over a year and have been very happy with them.

It should, but as always, it;s best to start fresh to avoid issues.

Podkicker may have setup some limits. Glad the rest works though.

Wow. This is why I shouldn't do geek stuff at 3 a.m. Got excited about the new version and went right for it. Booted into recovery and cleared cache, system and boot. Then I realized I hadn't downloaded the 2.08 zip file onto my SD card. So I went back a screen and rebooted. Blue screen of death followed, with a bunch of gibberish. Pulled the battery and tried again. Same thing. Horror! Fortunately, using the button sequence to reboot into recovery worked just fine. Restoring from the backup (I made that just before clearing cache, etc.) as we speak. I'm a dolt. Still not sure what went wrong, though.

thanks again for your excellent work! Went from 2.03 to 2.07 and now 2.08 without a single glitch, perfect load every time, everything works great!

2.08 is great, all the "incompatible" apps work now, but contact sync doesnt. To fix it i used root browser and copied accountandsyncsettings.apk and googlecontactsyncadapter.apk (something like that) from harmonia 2.07, copied them to system/app and changed the permissions, rebooted and all is well

Both of those files are there in the rom, my guess is that you had a bad flash. I would flash over your current install (backup first and after doing an md5) because if that is corrupted, who knows what else is.
