I wasn't sure what it was. I noticed that they push out an update(most phones) before they push out an os upgrade. With our phones being pretty new to the scene I'm not sure if that's the case or not.

I would think LG would make a big press release to show people that they actually follow through with their promise....

    That is a possibility.
Wouldn't be the first time an update locked out the current root techniques.

If you used any of the S based kernels, I think you have to reinstall the correct drivers for the V kernel.

    The LG drivers are... poo.
Seriously, I fight with them every time I use them

I have to use a different one depending on what I'm doing. No idea why. I don't get it, it's not like I have an oddball system.

If no one has done this by monday I will, but out of town now.I had an optimus drown last month so had to get a new one, just gets no cell signal. I will revert back to fully stock and try. Also I was running a hybrid PRL, should I change that back too?

If this is worth anything, nothing I can find about the update on the VM facebook wall/discussion area. Still, may be too early.

If its a long update then I'm pretty sure its gingerbread, but if its quick it could be something minor.

Are you trying from recovery? My phone is recognized by LGMobile update via recovery. Mine freezes on "Checking the module" from recovery.
