Standby mode?

Ignore my ignorance BC I sold my iPad for the note 10.1 and had a question regarding a standby mode. With my iPad I was able to turn off the screen and I would have no battery drain. With my Note 10.1 if I don't shut it down the battery does not last long at all with the screen off. I know its apples to oranges but is there a way to not have to charge it every other day if I don't tough the thing and don't want to shut it down?

Turn your wi-fi, bluetooth, GPS off. For me wi-fi may be the main reason for battery drain in standby mode, especially if the signal is not good and tablet keeps trying to maintain connection (I have multiple push emails synchronizing).
