It seems K9 sucks battery. I've got a Verizon Note 2, unrooted.

Any suggestions? Not that it's a huge deal but it does seem to deplete the
battery.

Aquamail works much better IMO. I have no battery issues at all and have used it on this and when I had my GS3.

What providers are you using it with? I have it on fastmail and gmail with no problem.

There was an older version that had a problem for me, is it up to date?

yes it is up to date. Using it on Verizon. I'm not sure if it is the problem with battery drain. I wonder how I can tell?

Check task manager to see if it is using a lot of CPU when it shouldn't. OS monitor is also good for that.

Check CPU spy to see if that is keeping your phone from going into deep sleep.

If something is keeping the CPU from going to sleep and using a lot of cycles that will certainly kill the battery.

I would look at signal strength. I used K9 then Kaiten with no impact on the battery. You can also go from sitting to polling on a set schedule. I run Touchdown and Kaiten with its 3 IMAP accounts with no battery impact.
