Vibration patterns

Well I'm new to this whole Android thing coming from iOS. I'm really liking Android and the Note 3. My question is how do I get vibration patterns to work when I get texts from certain contacts? I've tried it with one contact but it's still using the default vibration. Thanks

When you are viewing the contact the vibration option should be listed near where you can select a ringtone for a contact. You do not see it when you are editing a contact.

Yea I got that part. I have it changed on the contacts information but it doesn't work. Still just using the default vibration
