Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Can't hear people without earphones

I'm gonna be as detailed as possible in this post. Basically, when I receive an incoming call, if my earphones aren't connected to my phone, when I answer the phone, the person on the other line will constantly say hello and eventually hang up. However, with the headset connected, I can receive calls and have phone calls come and go with no problem. Anyone have a suggestion or solution to this issue? Also, if I put the phone on speakerphone, the same applies. I can hear them, but they can't hear me. It's been throwing me off, because it was working at one time. Thanks everyone.

Do you have a case on the phone? That could be the problem as there are a few cases out there that cover the microphone and that could be your issue.

sounds like you have a bad mic. i'm not aware of any mic option/setting but if it's not a hardware problem, it must be caused by something you installed. you can do a factory reset to see if that will fix it. if you don't wanna go that route, your best bet is to go back to where you bought it and let them figure out what's the problem. have them fix it or get a replacement, end of your worries... best of luck!

Thanks honda. That was the problem. Once I took the case off & looked at the difference in cut, I realize that it's good for the protection, but bad for when I need to make calls. Thank you for responding. It doesn't seem there are no issues w/ the mic overall. I've hardly had the phone for 2 weeks.

One of my Co-workers had the exact same problem, and I remember when the phone came out, people were having problems with cases blocking the mic. All you have to do is cut a little bit of the case away.
