Incoming calls working only abroad

I have bought a new Android 5G phone and I am experiencing a super weird issue. Outgoing calls are ok, but incoming calls are not.
Basically if someone calls me, I see that they call me, I answer but I cannot hear anything. For the person that is calling instead it looks like I am not answering the call.
The same did not happen when I was abroad. The sim card perfectly works on my previous phone.

I have tried to disable 5G and roaming. No difference.

Any idea on how to understand what could the issue be?

Welcome to Android Central! What's the brand and model of the phone, and which carrier are you using? Did you buy it from a well-known retailer, or from some place like Wish or AliExpress?

Ok, based on the network bands, that phone should work on that carrier.

Just to be sure, the phone isn't connecting automatically to a Bluetooth device, like headphones, right?

Make sure that
1. This is a genuine smartphone,
2. The system software has not been rooted,
3. There is not any malware installed on this device.

If this weird issue persists, I will suggest you go to a customer service center of your carrier and ask for a new USIM card. Then, try to answer a call. Good luck to you.
