I am wondering what you folks are using for tethering? I am interested in apps that work for non-root users, and don't get me in trouble with AT&T. Can anyone share their experience?

FoxFi is still the best tethering app, IMO. My wife often uses it for her networking meetings (tethering to her laptop), and I use it from time to time when I tether to my tablet.

Edit: though I'm rooted with my Skyrocket now, it can run on both rooted and unrooted phones (like my wife's unrooted Skyrocket).

Does it allow me to fly under AT&T's radar so-to-speak?

Well, I've looked at my detailed bill for the past few months, and unless it's really buried in there (you've seen their full bills, haven't ya? :p), I don't see it anywhere. If you do a search on this app here or elsewhere, I have yet to see a case where you will get caught for tethering.

The catch though is that using this will add up to your data plan. If you have 2 gigs for instance, and you tether your phone and laptop together for long stretches of time, you will eventually hit that data limit.
