Unable to connect with kies

I am a windows 7 user and i have rooted GT-I900 and am unable to connect my mobile with kies successfully .Whenever i run kies with the s2 hooked up to my pc with the mico usb,it tries to connect with my mobile but then it crashes and i get a report saying 'Kies has stopped working.. problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available' .I am running the latest vrs. of kies and i also tried running it as admin but still ended up with the same results.(I am using a rooted s2,if that makes a difference).(I also tried un-ticking usb debugging .Didn't work either)(i'm also using the latest vrs. of kies
