So i rooted my phone last week and have been really enjoying it and so i want to install cwm recovery and it keeps telling me every time i try to flash cwm that i have to take my phone to verizon. I mean i can get out of it by going into download mode and selecting cancel

Have you tried flashing the recovery with Odin?

I missed that you had a Verizon S3. Due to the bootloader being locked, this apparently can't be done.

I had this problem with my phone as well. I have a Virgin Mobile GS3. I tried for hours to install CWM on my phone and it wouldn't take. Thankfully, someone pointed me to Philz Touch Recovery: Philz.

I used Odin to install it from my computer: Odin. Download the newest Philz Touch Recovery .tar.md5 file onto your computer. Then, put your phone into Download Mode. Connect it to your computer with USB cord. Let drivers install if need be. Open Odin. Make sure PDA is checked. Click on PDA and find the Philz .tar.md5 file. Click Install and it should say Pass! on the top-left of Odin. After it does, your phone will reboot. And now, you'll have a custom recovery for your phone. Hope it works out.
