I bought an extra wall charger and it feel noticeably different when plugging it in. The stock one is smooth and gives little resistance. The aftermarket gives resistance.
Can I hurt my phone with the aftermarket or is it normal.

USB is pretty standard, it's possible the new charger simply has some extra teeth so to speak which grab the outside contact area better....rest assured your phone will be fine.

I avoid issues and questions by buying only OEM accessories.

I travel a lot and have 3 - 4 chargers I use, including one in the car. I never have an issue. They are all fairly standard. The voltage may be different, which will effect charging time, that's it.
