Has anyone tried the S4 hdmi output and what resolution do you get?
I just got a galaxy S4 and a cheap mhl hdmi adapter and it specifically says it supports the S4 and runs at 1080p. When plugged in, it automatically shows up on my monitor or my receiver, but is only outputting 720p so it looks blurry. The only hdmi setting I can find on the phone is for stereo/surround audio - apparently there is no way at all to set hdmi resolution or frequency. I know samsung won't help me at all unless I buy their official MHL adapter, which I don't want to do unless I know it will work as advertised at 1080p.
Apparently the nexus 10 has this problem - so I'm wondering if its a generic android problem, maybe specific to certain versions?
