I'm wondering if anyone would have any idea how I could fix this (if it's even fixable). I'm pretty sure the model is Samsung S4??? I have googled a few things and some results were that maybe there's a loose flex ribbon cable. It doesn't turn on without being charged at this stage (so I guess the battery is stuffed too), but all it shows is a permanent static like screen when plugged in. I did try and 're set the phone a couple of weeks ago but whilst downloading the android stuff it froze and I had to turn it off.

EDIT - Charged it for a bit. Turns on without being plugged in, so it seems to store charge in the battery. No change to the static screen though.

Welcome to Android Central! It's most likely a faulty screen (but it could also be a problem with the motherboard). You could try getting the screen replaced. You're not sure what kind of phone you have? Is it yours, or are you trying to salvage it from somewhere?
