Just like many of you, since the Lollipop update, my Verizon s5 was crap and I was about to throw it against the wall. I was debating to factory reset it cause of the nuisance that I was gonna have to deal with of backing up everything and putting it back to how it was configured after. But I decided I couldn't take it anymore and backed everything up and did the factory reset. And now it's back to the S5 that I remember and love. No more lags, overheating phones, drop calls, issues with texting, etc..... If you're having the same headaches I was I suggest you go and factory reset your phone cause who knows when verizons gonna release the update to fix those issues.

I broke down and did the update last night. I didn't even mess around with it. I did wipe cache and factory restore before I even tried anything. Works like a charm. I am also on Verizon. Was nervous due to mega problems I had when I had my S4 last year and going to KK. Glad it worked for you as well.
