Why can't my macbook air connect to my galaxy s5?

[AC Question]

I keep getting an error message to "try reconnecting or restarting your device" whenever I try to transfer files between my s5 and my Air. I have restarted both devices, and I am still unsuccessful in getting them to talk to each other. Previously I did not have any issues, I don't know if there is a setting in the phone I may have accidentally changed or something else. Any help with this issue is much appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using Android File Transfer? That program is somewhat notorious for being buggy.
