The android update on my S5 won't let me access text messages on my ford sync. how do I fix it?

My phone is synced with my Ford F150. before the update I would be notified of text messages and I could hear them. Since the update, no notifications and cannot have them read to me

Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, compatibility issues can arise with car Bluetooth systems after a phone's system update. Try contacting Ford and see if they are aware of this issue. Does the Ford system get regular updates? If so, make sure it's up to date.

Remember, Bluetooth is a pipe, a way to get data from point A to point B. It doesn't specify what data, or what format the data has to be in. MANY car/phone combos just don't work unless the car manufacturer gets complaints and modifies their firmware.
