Galaxy S6 Edge- Screen is stuck and won't soft reboot

[AC Question]

I installed the CBC Sports app today on my GS6 Edge to stream via chromecast. After a few hours, I tried to open my phone and all I see on the screen is a myriad of tiny red/green/blue etc colored dots. When I tried to soft reset via Power+Vol Down etc, nothing happens. Any advice on fixing this?

Welcome to Android Central! If the phone is still frozen on that screen, press and hold Power and Vol Down for about 15 seconds to force a shutdown. Then try powering on again normally.
