5.0 versions does not allow app to remain in memory for long. The aggressive ram managment and reloading the webpages/app during multitasking.
Is it still present in 5.1.1 ? Like can i run say facebook, gmail, browser, whatsapp and experience no reloads during switching

It is better, keeps the last few apps used and you can switch without reloading, but I've noticed that Chrome always seems to force reloading

I'm not seeing the reloading issue as necessarily a bad thing. when I select from my list of open apps, I want it to refresh. if it was constantly refreshing in the background waiting for me to select it wouldn't that just use more battery and data anyway? My apps refresh very quickly, usually five seconds or less and not until I'm ready for them. I seldom use Chrome though. I find opera much more satisfactory and faster. also, love the text wrapping feature on Opera.

Just had this happen earlier, I'd navigated through a bunch of menus on a webpage and after opening a couple more apps, I went back to the web browser and it reloaded it from the main page rather than the sub menu I was previously at.

Its not so big of an issue but if you are like copying text from a webpage to say a messaging app or any other and you come back and it gets refreshed it's a bit of headache.
Can you guys be a little bit more specific as to how many apps or which particular apps are refreshed.

Got even worse for myself and some others after 5.1.1. I mainly use Chrome Facebook, GroupMe and YouTube throughout the day. I always end up losing my place in those apps because they constantly have to refresh. The worst part about it though is the phone will kill YouTube background play. My Google Music subscription allows me to listen to videos in the background which is awesome, but I can't even switch apps without it killing the app forcing me to lose my place in the video. This problem alone has had me considering switching back to iPhone. If HTC didn't drop the ball, I wouldn't even have a s6. Now I remember why I left them to begin with. Just a very frustrating experience and no fix after almost 3 months now.

Thats not good for a top tier smartphone. I guess u shud try root and build.prop tweaks that might improve it.

5.1.1 on Sprint S6 Edge... it's almost impossible to background applications. They close very quickly. KK never did this to me, aside from the oldest apps in the bg. I find it impossible to use Maps, Spotify, and Escort Live simultaneously. Even just throwing up Maps and Chrome for a podcast, Chrome will die in the bg after 1-2 minutes, tops. Can be instant if I navigate through any system menus. Since I've had issues with BT disconnecting sometimes, I have to use the menu to reconnect, and it kills apps in the background.

Chrome is an utter memory hog on every device I use it on. If you use it in conjuction with other apps it is sure to get force closed.
