"close all" button

Does thi button actually close the running apps and get the out of memory and off the battery?

I don't think it does, because after I do a close all and then run the Shut app, it identifies the same apps still running in the background.

I haven't noticed it do anything except clear the list. In my view, it just acts as a recent apps list.
