Why isn't my lock screen timing out?

Lock screen not timing out

My wife and I got matching Galaxy S7's the same day, and we love them. The other day, hers started doing a wierd thing where when she gets a notification, her lock screen won't shut off. It stays lit up, until she blacks out the screen manually. Any suggestions/tips are welcome.

Hi and welcome to Android Central forums!

Have you recently received a software update for the phones? Have you tried rebooting the device?

You can also go into recovery, and wipe the cache partition. See if that might help it.

How to clear the system cache on the Galaxy S7:

Turn the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge off, then....Press and hold the Volume Up, Power and Home buttons at the same time until the Android logo shows up and the phone vibrates, Then let go of the Power button and continue to hold the other buttons, Use the volume buttons to scroll down to highlight Wipe Cache Partition, Press the Power button, Scroll down to Yes and press the Power button, Scroll to Reboot System Now and press Power, Your Galaxy S7 will reboot with a cleared system cache

If the problems persist the next stage is to*factory reset the Galaxy*S7
