Google play music problem

So every time I connect my phone to Bluetooth in the car, Google play music starts blaring. I shut it off..swipe it away from recent apps and continue on with my day. I shut off the car to fill gas...turn the car back on and bam..it blares full blast again. How do I stop this?

I have the same issue. The only way I fix it is to simply change the input on the car stereo from Bluetooth when I don't want to hear whatever the current Google Play Music queue is. This still causes a problem, though, because if I'm streaming something else over Bluetooth (a baseball game, for example) and I lose cell coverage, the player automatically reverts to the Google Play Music app, which is a pain.
